Job Description
This position is responsible for providing system maintenance and enhancements for the DHS Special Projects Team.
Responsibilities include butare not limited to:
– Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications
– Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code.
– Work with IT support teams (ex. DBA’s) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented
– Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications.
– Work with business team to complete acceptance testing and participate in integration testing
– Responsible for full System Development Life Cycle
– On-call production support
Required Job Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
– 10+ years of experience in mainframe development
– 10+ years and expert knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and other mainframe technologies
– Expert knowledge of DB2 Utilities (QMF and SPUFI)
– Strong knowledge of IBM Utilities such as IEBGENER, IDCAMS, ICETOOL, DEBUGGER(CICS and Batch), FILE MANAGER, SORT, Fault Analyzer
– Experience in all components of software delivery including requirements, design, development, and testing
– Experience with CHANGEMAN and CONTROL-M Scheduling
– Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting
– Experience with mainframe software development tools and platforms (z/OS)
– Excellent
