Job Description
We are searching for a Business Analyst to join our rapidly expanding software development team. This position will work with every member of the development team and be instrumental in the communication of the vision of the product team down to developers writing the code, and finally with the QA team to test the code.
Day-to-day job duties will include the following:
- Attending daily stand-up meetings, weekly grooming meetings, and bi-weekly planning meetings
- Work with Software Architect and Product Owner on initial design of new features
- Work with Product Owner and Instructional Designer to formulate UI/UX requirements for new features
- Work with Software Architect and Senior Developers to formulate the [GU1] requirements for new features
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with product owner and customers to analyze business needs, and deliver the following artifacts: Functional requirements, Business Requirements Document, Use Cases, User Stories, ERDs, Business Process Diagrams (using BPMN), Scenarios, Acceptance Criteria, Graphic User Interface, Screen, and Interface designs. In particular:
- For smaller features – create user stories, acceptance criteria, scenarios, UI mockups, and other supplementing BA artefacts to present at grooming
- For larger features – create a Business Requirements Document to document the entirety of the project. Once all stakeholders approve BRD, break up into detailed user stories to present at grooming and put into development
- Once user stories are put into a sprint for development, assist the developers with any questions and follow up with any stakeholder to get those questions answered
- Once user stories are put into a sprint for QA, assist the QA team with any questions they may have about the functional requirements
- Ensure the acceptance criteria has been met completely before presenting to Product Owner for final approval
- Prepare software release notes
Responsibilities and required skills
Required Skills:
- 2 - 4 years’ professional experience
- Strong technical, organizational, communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of SDLC, agile development processes
- Strong knowledge of Business Analysis discipline
- Proven strong requirements documentation, requirements development/elaboration skills, system/user guides documentation
- UML knowledge and experience
- Expertise in writing User Stories in the Agile environment is required
- Understanding of Azure DevOps is preferred
- Understanding of C# and SQL is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent degree preferred
- Restaurant experience is a plus
- This is not a work from home or remote work position. Daily office presence is required
