Job Description
This role will be critical to implement processes enabling engineering and product to deliver against strategic business objectives. This includes developing and leading the deployment of best practices for project management, budget management, business case development, and business operations methodologies across the entire engineering organization.
Job Duties
- Portfolio planning:
- Drive quarterly alignment with engineering leaders on priorities and what’s above versus below the line
- Partner with engineering leaders to plan and optimize capacity to deliver against top priorities
- Own the business case process and drive cross functional alignment on priorities leveraging ROI-driven model
- Monitor Business Health and Drive Results:
- Create project plans, gather updates, estimate work, assess resource needs, assign tasks, and identify risks and issues that impact resources and timelines
- Conduct program update meetings and provide status updates, as well as attend other project, work stream, or function specific meetings
- Ensure accuracy in regard to proper prioritization, planning and execution of deliverables. Baseline and improve engineering deliverable say/do ratio
- Work collaboratively with business management, product, engineering, and other teams to understand business requirements, align stakeholder expectations, engage with business for project participation, update stakeholders on project progress, and prepare for project deployment and associated business changes
- Own the monthly technology review cadence and partner with the CTO staff to curate impactful contents and drive engagement
- Provide weekly/monthly status to the CTO staff on OKRs, top-level KPIs, and reporting progress against goals and status of internal initiatives
- Partner with finance and engineering leaders to establish bottom-up budget and drive alignment of budget targets
- Process Design, Implementation and Adoption
- Partner and collaborate with cross-organizational functions such as Finance, HR, Engineering, Product and other Planning and Operations functions to help create and/or optimize processes and reduce toils
