Cloud Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated DevOps role focusing on Systems. This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.Responsibilities

• Provide cloud management services such as strategy, approaches, best practices, and procedures across the organization.
• Work within a team of experts to develop processes, tooling, and technology within a highly available, reliable, and secure cloud platform.
• Help drive the design of our system architecture, making sure components are built for rapid development, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Deeply caring about technology, your craft and about the success of your teammates and the company. Having strong intrinsic motivators to help drive self-improvement.
• Work collaboratively with the Product, Sales, and Sales Solution teams to create and build functionality which enhance our products and services.
• Champion the Infrastructure as Code transition.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in an operational or services delivery role (Ideally for a Managed Services Provider, Cloud Hosting, or Telecom company).
• Technology driven with a strong background in high availability design for System architecture.
• Strong scripting skills in bash and other languages such as Python and Ansible.
• Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible, YAML, CI/CD (Jenkins), git, or Terraform.
• Expert knowledge of Ubuntu or RHEL/CentOS required. Other Linux distributions (Debian, Arch, etc) or FreeBSD are valuable.
• Deep understanding of data centers, server, and network infrastructure, and how those components interrelate and are managed at scale.
• Extensive experience with Hypervisors and Virtualization technologies such as Openstack/KVM, Kubernetes, VMWare ESXi, etc
• Proficiency using and understanding of various technologies such as block and object storage including software defined, operating systems including imaging and scripting, network configuration and security (authentication, keys, encryption, firewalling)
• Knowledge of Cloud Service Provider platform concepts and technologies a plus (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Knowledge of the Financial Markets industry a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and presentation skills.
