Job Description
Summary:
We are looking for a versatile and highly skilled Microsoft Power Platform Developer in the Division of Public Health providing primary support for the Health Hazard Control Unit (HHCU) within the Environmental Health section. The primary purpose of the position is to lead the design, development, and governance of low‑code and automation solutions and design, build, and support enterprise‑grade applications and databases. This hybrid role supports business automation initiatives while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of SQL environments across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and deploy applications using Power Apps (Canvas & Model‑Driven),
Power Automate, and Dataverse
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with SQL Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and
external systems
• Develop and maintain SQL Server databases, including schema design,
performance tuning, and optimization
• Create and maintain stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and ETL
processes
• Design enterprise‑ready data models and build secure connections between
Power Platform solutions and SQL databases
• Implement governance, ALM, and environment strategies for Power Platform
solutions
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across applications and
databases
• Troubleshoot Power Platform errors, workflow failures, and database
performance issues
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into
technical solutions
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
• Support modernization, automation, and cloud adoption initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
• Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and
SQL Server
• Expertise in T‑SQL development, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and
query optimization
• Experience managing SQL Server instances (on‑premise and/or Azure SQL)
• Understanding of data governance, security roles, and DLP policies
• Experience integrating databases with APIs, cloud apps, and third‑party
systems
• Ability to interpret business needs and deliver scalable, maintainable
solutions
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability
Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft certifications: PL‑400 or higher – Preferred
• Experience with Power BI, dataflows, and enterprise reporting
• Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS
