Job Description

Iowa Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IWD-VRS) is looking for a desktop support technician as part of the IVRS IT Help Desk. This position will serve IVRS staff by providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 to IVRS staff and leadership. The work includes troubleshooting technical issues, communicating with non-technical users, and escalating issues where appropriate. This position will also assist in installing software, imaging computers, and other related tasks as assigned.This role will work closely with others in IT. Communication will be essential to execute work in a timely manner.

1 to 3 years of experience, relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment, typically reports to a project leader or manager.

Responsibilities and required skills

4 years of relevant experience and preferred education of 2 year degree or equivalent technical study (4 years)
Experienced in PC (desktop/laptop/thin client) support – both desk side and remotely (4 years)
Windows 7/10 installation, patching, and troubleshooting (4 years)
Ability to troubleshoot issues with Microsoft 2019 (4 years)
Windows networking TCP/IP Configuration and troubleshooting (4 years)
Escalate issues to next level support and or management accordingly (4 years)
Ability to troubleshoot issues with Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome (4 years)
Demonstrated experience providing support with remote tools (4 years)
Ability to install and troubleshoot issues with a variety of in-house developed and 3rd party software (0 years)
Troubleshoot desktop and network printers issues (0 years)
Experienced in Google Workspace products (0 years)
Experience in support of the Microsoft Office 365 of products (0 years)
Experience in Apple device support (iPad, iPhone) (0 years)
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Active Directory – client side (0 years)
Experience with hard drive encryption – preference for Bitlocker and McAfee (0 years)
Ability to modify system registry (0 years)
